Bob Montana, creator of the           comic strip.

               "Archie"

In Paul's early twenties he decided to open an art gallery in Meredith New Hampshire, he grew up in New Hampshire, and during those years, he had the good fortune to meet Bob Montana who had just built a beautifull building for his art gallery on the main street of Mrerdith, New Hampshire. He traveled extensively abroad and imported various pieces of art to display in his gallery. He was committed to building Meredith's standing in the New Hampshire Lakes Reagion, being one of the most beautiful vacation spots in New Hampshire. He suggested that I open a summer gallery across the street from his. There was already another gallery down the street owned by Peter Hall, a very accomplished water color artist. Bob thought having an art colony would add to Merediths's standing in the community.. I opened mine and ran it summers for nearly ten years. The success of the gallery allowed me to continue developing my landscape and portrait painting. Bob had to constantly be comming up with new material for the Archie strip. He would observe daily happenings and relationships in his life to give him material for his strip. He  used to call me Miller... He new i played bass and would play music in Boston during the winter months. One day he said he was putting me in the strip .What a great suprise. This is the image below. Bob's Daughter, Lynn, was very nice in presenting me with the original art used in the strip.
